Bajo Quinto/Sexto
The Bajo sexto, which translates to "sixth bass" in Spanish, is a Mexican string instrument belonging to the guitar family. It features 12 strings arranged in six double courses. Similarly, the Bajo quinto, or "fifth bass" in Spanish, is another Mexican string instrument from the guitar family, boasting 10 strings in five double courses. Traditionally, in older music genres where the instrument serves as a bass, players typically pluck the strings with their fingers. However, in contemporary chordal and melodic styles, the use of a pick is common practice.
