Blakeney Stiff-Finger Slide Holders
What is a Stiff-Finger? It's a guitar slide holder explicitly designed for blues players who understand the importance of a smooth slide performance. This patent-pending guitar slide holder is revolutionizing live blues performances. Its key feature is the ability to quickly access and store your slide during a song. Typically, when using a slide, you'd have to wear it throughout the entire song—unless you're lucky enough to have a guitar tech to pass it to, but good luck catching it when they toss it back!
So, how does it work? It's simple—the holder clips onto your guitar strap or microphone stand. When ready to use the slide, you can slip your finger into it exactly as far as you need, thanks to the patented stop on the holder. Then, you can easily remove the slide from the holder and dive into your blues lead, just like your favorite Allman Brothers guitarist. When you finish rippin', clip the slide back into the holder and pull your finger out. A patented stop on this end, too, ensures your finger doesn't get stuck in the slide. This entire process takes less than a second.
From inventor Tim Blakeney: "Where the name came from: I was fortunate enough to meet a founding member of Megadeath who has now moved on to his own musical endeavors. To say the least, Chris is a great guy and the most amazing player I have ever known personally. He has lost the ability to bend his first finger, and it slows him down like a fighter jet breaking the sound barrier – Not at all! So, it hit me one day as I watched him shred on YouTube – and I thought – check out his stiff finger! Then it hit me. That's it; your finger is stiff when you're wearing a slide. Then came the slogan 'Slide on a Stiff–Finger and Slide those Blues away!'"
