Guitar Strings

The guitar is a stringed, fretted musical instrument, commonly featuring six or twelve strings, though modern variants with 7, 8, and 9 strings exist.  Guitars are played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand. A guitar pick may also be employed to pick the strings. The guitar's sound is projected either acoustically, through a resonant hollow chamber on the instrument, or amplified using an electronic pickup and amplifier.  Perhaps the most prolific instrument in modern popular music, the guitar can make most any musical sound a reality!
