Founded in 1798 by Giorgio Pirazzi as "Giorgio Pirazzi and Sons," Pirastro originated in Italy and later established itself in Germany. The brand name "Pirastro" emerged in the 1890s when Gustav Pirazzi, the founder's grandson, partnered with Theodor Strobel. Today, the company remains family-owned and is led by the sixth generation, Eva Pirazzi and her husband Volker Müller-Zierach, alongside their children Annette and Henning.

Pirastro continues to set the standard in string manufacturing, combining centuries of expertise with modern innovation.
