Orchestral Strings

Orchestral string instruments are grouped into four main families based on how they produce sound:

  • Violin: The smallest and highest-pitched string instrument.
  • Viola: Slightly larger and lower-pitched than the violin.
  • Cello: Larger than the viola, with a deeper, richer sound.
  • Double Bass: The largest and lowest-pitched string instrument.
