D'Addario EJ72's are designed and gauged for the mandola, tuned in fifths to the same pitches as a vi Phosphor Bronze was introduced to string making by D'Addario in 1974 and has become synonymous with warm, bright, and well-balanced acoustic tone.  D'Addario Phosphor Bronze strings are precision wound with corrosion resistant phosphor bronze onto a carefully drawn, hexagonally shaped, high carbon steel core.  The result is long lasting, bright sounding tone with excellent intonation.

Our bluegrass set is offered with a phosphor bronze-wound 4^th string for extra brilliance and sustain. D'Addario prides itself on offering quality strings for every popular stringed instrument available. Unfortunately, economic reasons and a lack of technical information prevent us from carrying stock sets for certain obscure or special instruments. Custom designed and manufactured strings can be made for a reasonable cost, presuming accurate specifications about the instrument can be provided.
