D'Addario NS Electric Viola Set

The NS Electric line has been conceived jointly by Ned Steinberger and D’Addario. Because volume is unlimited for electric instruments, NS Electric line focuses on tone and expressive nuance rather than acoustic power. It brings out the richest tone from any electric instrument, and work well for acoustic instruments when subtlety of expression is paramount.

NS Strings are mostly made with stranded steel cores wrapped with aluminum, brass, tungsten, nickel, and stainless steel. The line is aimed for:

• standard electric bowed instruments (violin, viola, and cello)
• electric upright basses using NS Standard Double Bass string lengt
• any standard Bass Guitar and NS Omni Bass, to provide an upright bass sound (warmer)

Sized to fit long-scale viola (body length 16-16 1/2 inches) with a playing length of 15 inches (380mm), these electric viola strings will fit a majority of standard sized electric violas. They will also work well on acoustic instruments, providing a clear, focused tone while still allowing for tonal subtlety and expressiveness.

Designed in partnership with Ned Steinberger and NS Design, the D'Addario NS Electric Strings can be used on electric instruments to bring out the best in them. Each string is designed to enhance the expressive range of tone sought after by the most discerning players. The set consists of regular tuning strings (A, D, G, C). Additional high E is available as a single string.
