Plectrum Acoustic Series

characteristics: soft sounding, low tension

"PLECTRUM Acoustic Series are soft sounding strings for acoustic guitar with low tension on the bottom end. The plain strings are made of brass coated steel, the wound strings have a silk inlay in combination with a highly flexible steel core. Wound strings are polished bronze round-wound.

A remarkable string that prompts comments like "I never knew a string like this existed!". The combination of lower overall tension, hybrid arrangement of flatwounds with roundwounds and silk inlays (for precise overtone balance) produces a beautiful, almost classical tone, with the warmth of bronze and the easy playbility of a fine set of jazz strings. And because of its low, evenly balanced tensions, Plectrums can extend the playing life of many fine older guitars with weak bracing and other special age conditions.
